Visiting a National Park in Another Country
If you enjoy wildlife spotting, walking and being active, visiting a national park could be the perfect holiday activity for you. It’s the ideal way to see more of what a country has to offer and to experience some of the unique habitats and terrains there. Here are some tips:
• Wait for the good weather. During rain and storms, all the animals will hide. You are much more likely to see something of interest during nicer weather.
• Hire a guide. This will help you to spot wildlife and to understand the ecosystems you encounter. Guides can tell you about animals, birds and plants and will usually have specialist equipment like binoculars and telescopes.
• Arrange transport. National parks are often remote and difficult to get to. Make transport arrangements ahead of time so that you are not disappointed. Hire a car, use public transport or choose a tour package that includes transport as well.
