KENYA INTRODUCTION

Governors' Camp, Masai Mara, Kenya Balloon Safari, Masai Mara

Lying on the equator on the eastern coast of Africa, KENYA is a country of diverse scenery from beaches and coral reef on the Indian Ocean, low plains rich with game rising to central highlands, snow-capped mountains, a fertile plateau in the east to flat desert landscapes. The climate is tropical on the coast, temperate inland to arid in the north and east with rainfall peaking in most areas in November and April.

There is a large variety of wildlife including the 'big five' roaming free in the country's National Parks and Game Reserves. The Masai Mara, known as one of Kenya's top wildlife areas, is located in the heart of Africa's Great Plains. It is home to the 'big five' and the spectacular annual animal migration, especially the migration of the wildebeest, which takes place between June and October. One of the rarest animals, the rhino, can be found at the Great Rift Valley, an area of natural breathtaking scenery with its scarps and volcanoes. The worlds greatest concentration of flamingos can be found around Lake Nakuru in the Great Rift Valley.
